Tras una semana larga de trabajo nos despedimos de Madrid y todo lo bueno que nos dejó. Viajamos siete horas y media de regreso hasta Filadelfia y 45 minutos hasta Washington DC, donde nos recibirían nuestros hermanos de la iglesia para llevarnos hasta ahí y reencontrarnos con nuestros seres amados. Fue una misión de gran bendición y agradecemos a todos los que nos apoyaron!!

Gracias Dios por amarnos tanto!!

After a long week of work, we bid farewell to Madrid and all the good things she left us. We traveled seven and a half hours back to Philadelphia and 45 minutes to Washington DC, where we were greeted by our brothers and sisters from the church, who drove us back to IBC where we reconnected with our loved ones. The mission was a great blessing and we greatly appreciate everyone who supported us!

Nuestro día libre, en este día tuvimos la oportunidad de visitar y conocer dos ciudades de España, la ciudad de Toledo y la ciudad de Segovia. Compartimos y conocimos un poco de la historia de este país. después de recorrer varios kilómetros nos dirigimos a la casa de la misión para preparar maletas y retornar a Estados Unidos.

This was our day off, we had the chance to visit two cities in Spain, Toledo and Segovia. We shared and learned a little history of this country. After traveling several miles we went to the mission house to pack our bags and return to the United States.

Dia Domingo, Dia del Señor, la iglesia Nueva Jerusalem nos dio el privilegio de organizar y dirigir el servicio para la congregación. Francisco dirigió todo el servicio, alabamos al señor, se presentaron testimonios de nuestros compañeros misioneros y desde luego charlamos y no perdimos la oportunidad de evangelizar a hermanos invitados al servicio. Un momento de mucha alegría y comunión con el Señor. Asi, hermanados y en comunión con el Señor terminamos oficialmente nuestro trabajo misionero. Gracias a todos por su apoyo y por sus oraciones para que estos hermanos sintieran el amor al prójimo por parte de ustedes!

On Sunday, the Lord’s Day, the New Jerusalem Church gave us the privilege of organizing and directing the service for their congregation. Francisco led the whole service, we praised the lord, presented testimonies by our fellow missionaries, and of course we chatted with others and did not lose the opportunity to evangelize those who had been invited to attend the service. A moment of joy and fellowship with the Lord. So, in this spirit of brotherhood and fellowship with the Lord, we officially finished our missionary work. Thank you all for your support and your prayers, which made it possible for our brother and sisters in Spain to feel your brotherly love!

Luego de una semana muy larga tuvimos un tiempo de descanso en la mañana, visitamos Alcalá de Henares que queda en camino a una iglesia que visitariamos en la tarde. Pasamos un rato agradable y agradecemos a Fernando nuestro guía y amigo de JCUM que nos atiende muy bien. Ya en la tarde visitamos la Iglesia Nueva Jerusalen en Nueva Numancia un barrio de Madrid, donde habitan muchos latinoamericanos. Los hermanos nos invitaron a almorzar y luego tuvimos 4 horas de espera hasta el servicio, así que los pastores Alfonso y Nicolas nos llevaron a dar un pequeño paseo por el metro de Madrid y tuvimos la oportunidad de ganar almas para el señor en nuestro viaje. Después llegamos a la reunión de las diez (10) iglesias, Alabamos, compartimos testimonios, y pasamos un momento edificante con nuestros hermanos de las diferentes iglesias. Gracias Dios por amarnos tanto!!

After a long week we had some time off in the morning, we visited Alcalá de Henares which is on the way to a church that we would visit in the afternoon. We had a nice time and we thank our guide and friend Fernando of YWAM, who has served us very well. In the afternoon we visited the New Jerusalem Church in Nueva Numancia, a suburb of Madrid, where many Latin Americans live. The brothers invited us to lunch and then we had four hours until the church service, so pastors Nicolas and Alfonso took us on a small trip through the subway in Madrid, and we had the opportunity to win souls for the Lord in our journey. Then we arrived at the meeting of the ten (10) churches. We praised, shared testimonies and we had an uplifting moment with our brothers and sisters from different churches. Thank you God for loving us!

Este día nos dirigimos al barrio del aeropuerto de Madrid, el barrio de BARAJAS. allí se encuentra la Iglesia Bíblica de Barajas, el pastor Manuel Fernandez y su esposa Jamie, junto con Daniel y Carolina que colaboran en la operación de esta. La iglesia es muy joven, abrió sus puertas en marzo de 2010. Cuenta con 25 personas, que para una iglesia en España es relativamente grande para solo tener tan pocos meses de ser creada. Nuestra misión en este día fue traer mas personas a que vengan a la iglesia, el pastor Manuel y su grupo  ofrece de una forma muy creativa el servicio de limpieza a la comunidad, es decir servirles y por medio de esa forma hablar en este caso con los dueños de los locales comerciales e invitarles a la iglesia. Luego en la tarde la iglesia organizo un torneo de fútbol con los jóvenes del barrio con el motivo acercarlos e invitarlos a participar. Fue un día de gran éxito, puesto que  los pastores quedaron muy agradecidos con la ayuda que el grupo misionero les brindo. Salimos directo a la casa misionera de JCUM para cambiarnos e ir al ministerio de misericordia de REMAR INTERNACIONAL en Madrid, a La Cañada Real, el Gheto de los drogadictos en Madrid, solo parte del grupo asistio debido a la seguridad. Fue como visitar las puertas del infierno, algo indescriptible, llevamos comida a los drogadictos, para el cuerpo y para el alma. Dios salve a Madrid!!

On this day we went to the neighborhood near Madrid’s airport, the neighborhood of BARAJAS. Located there is the Biblical Church of Barajas, with pastor Manuel Fernandez and his wife Jamie, along with Daniel and Carolina who assist in this operation. The church is very young, having just opened its doors in March 2010. It has 25 people, which for a church in Spain is relatively large considering it was created such a short time ago. Our mission on this day was to bring more people to come to church, Pastor Manuel and his group in a very creative way offers cleaning services to the community. The goal here is to serve, and in this way get to talk to the owners of the business establishments and invite them to the church. Then in the afternoon the church organized a soccer tournament with young people in the neighborhood, in order to get closer to them and invite them to participate. It was a day of great success, as the pastors were very appreciative of the assistance offered by our missionary group. We then went straight to the YWAM missionary house to change our clothes and go to REMAR INTERNACIONAL’s mercy ministry in Madrid, specifically in La Cañada Real, the Ghetto of drug addicts in Madrid. Only part of our group attended due to security reasons. It was like visiting the gates of hell, something indescribable. We gave out food to the drug addicts, to nourish their body and soul. God save Madrid!

Comenzamos la mañana con nuestros devocionales personales y grupales, luego nos alistamos para ir a Móstoles, es un municipio de la provincia y Comunidad de Madrid. Ahi nos llevó el pastor Jaime Villarreal y su esposa Irene de la iglesia VIDA NUEVA. Tuvimos varios trabajos en esta iglesia, nos dividimos en grupos , unos ayudaron en construcción con el piso de la iglesia, otros con un inventario de diversos materiales educativos, y los demás fueron a evangelizar y distribuir folletos de la iglesia con niños del campamento de verano (los cuales tenían entre 9 y 18 anos de edad) alrededor del parque LIANA, el “central park” de Móstoles. Al finalizar nuestras tareas y luego de almorzar fuimos al parque LIANA con alrededor de 50 ninos a evangelizar, ellos hicieron varias cosas y nos metieron en su programa, actuamos y cantamos con ellos. Día de gran bendición y de lección.

Luego de un largo, largo, largo día fuimos a descansar para cargar baterías!

We started the morning with our personal and group devotions, then we prepared to go to Móstoles, a municipality in the province of Madrid.  We were taken there by pastor Jaime Villarreal and his wife Irene of New Life Church. We had several jobs in this church, and we divided ourselves into groups. Some helped with the floor construction of the church, others with an inventory of various educational materials, and the others went out to evangelize and distribute brochures with children from the church summer camp (ages between 9 and 18 years), around the LIANA park , the “central park” in Móstoles. At the end of our work and after lunch, we went back to LIANA park with about 50 kids to evangelize, they did several activities and included us in their program, acting and singing with them. It was a day of great blessing and learning.

Salimos temprano hacia los cuarteles generales de REMAR INTERNACIONAL para llevar a cabo la grabación de nuestros teatros y algunos testimonios de nuestros hermanos para el canal cristiano de ellos que se llama SOLIDARIA TV. Los videos estarán listos para nuestro reporte de misiones así que no se lo pierda y venga ese día a acompañarnos!!

Luego de grabar y conocer las instalaciones nos dirigimos a la Iglesia DIOS ES AMOR,  que se encuentra en la ciudad de Madrid, ahí alabamos, actuamos y compartimos testimonios con nuestros hermanos en la iglesia y fue un día de mucha bendición!!

Estaremos preparandonos para reunirnos con ellos una vez mas el día sábado con ellos y otras nueve (9) iglesias para compartir la palabra de Dios!!

Luego de un largo día nos retiramos una vez mas a nuestro cuartel general en TORREJON DE ARDOZ.

We left early for the headquarters of REMAR INTERNATIONAL to record our theater as well as some testimonies from some of our group members, for REMAR’s TV channel called SOLIDARIA TV. The videos will be ready by the time of our mission report, so do not miss out and come join us that day!

After recording and touring the facilities, we went to the DIOS ES AMOR church (God is Love), located in the city of Madrid, then we praised, acted and share testimonies with our brothers and sisters in the church. It was a day of great blessing!

We are preparing to meet with them once again on Saturday with this and nine (9) other churches to share the word of God!

After a long day we retired once again to our headquarters in Torrejón de Ardoz.

Bueno después de medio acomodar nuestro sueño, salimos a trabajar en el campo. Nuestra primera parada fue la Iglesia Evangélica Cuerpo de Cristo, parte de REMAR INTERNACIONAL, ubicados en la ciudad de COSLADA. Visitamos su iglesia y luego hicimos nuestra primera evangelización en el campo, en el parque central de COSLADA. Sentimos la realidad de España, el gran rechazo de los españoles por la religión en general. En la mañana fuimos en parejas alrededor del parque evangelizando, y en la tarde hicimos alabanza, teatro y al final fuimos a evangelizar de nuevo. Un triunfo para nosotros porque cautivamos a varios españoles y sobretodo a los niños!!

Well after somewhat adjusting our sleep schedule, we began to work in the field. Our first stop was the Body of Christ Evangelical Church, part of REMAR INTERNATIONAL, located in the town of Coslada.We visited this church and then we did our first evangelization in the field, in the main park of COSLADA. We felt the reality of Spain, the Spaniards’ great rejection of religion in general. In the morning we went in pairs around the park evangelizing, and in the afternoon we worshipped, did theater and then we evangelized again. It was a triumph for us because we were able to capture several Spaniards, and especially the children!

El día 2 fue el día de adaptación al nuevo clima y horario, ya que perdimos 6 horas de sueño. Empezamos a trabajar con nuestro devocional personal y grupal en la mañana, luego recibimos y planeamos las actividades de la misión. Para terminar y tratar de ajustar el cuerpo al nuevo horario, es decir para que no nos durmiéramos, hicimos un pequeño recorrido por Madrid para conocer un poco nuestro nuevo entorno y conocer un poco las personas y la cultura española.

Day 2 was the day of adaptation to a new climate and time zone, as we lost six hours of sleep. We started working with our personal and group devotions in the morning, then we planned out the mission activities. Finally, in an attempt to adjust our bodies to the new schedule, i.e. to keep us from falling asleep, we did a small tour of Madrid to learn a little about our new surroundings and about the Spanish people and culture.

Misión España 2010 – Dia 1

El dia 1 de agosto emprendimos nuestra  misión rumbo a Madrid – España. Comenzamos en nuestra  iglesia como punto de partida, alistamos equipajes, tickets de vuelo, etc. Luego de ser comisionados en  el servicio salimos al aeropuerto rumbo a Filadelfia nuestra primera parada hacia España. Luego de un lapso de casi 2 horas nuestro avión salió rumbo a Madrid.

On August 1st we started our mission bound for Madrid – Spain. Our church was the starting point, and we prepared our baggage, flight tickets, etc. After being commissioned in the worship, we headed to the airport bound for Philadelphia, our first stop toward Spain. After waiting for almost two hours, our plane took off for Madrid.
